Schumer plan: A bill this fall, biometric verification, and tougher words

New York Sen. Charles Schumer is attending the twice-delayed immigration meeting at the White House this afternoon, and gave a speech yesterday on his intentions. As chair of the Senate Judiciary’s immigration subcommittee, he is taking over for Sen. Ted Kennedy as the main proponent of an immigration overhaul.
This time, he emphasized, Democrats will try harder to convince Republicans that they are “serious about enforcement.” You can already tell by the language he’s using, and his listing of seven principles starting with, “illegal immigration is wrong, and a primary goal of comprehensive immigration reform must be to dramatically curtail future illegal immigration.” (The quotations come from his prepared remarks for a Migration Policy Institute event in D.C. yesterday.)
The idea of legalizing undocumented immigrants is presented not as a giveaway, or a jumping-through-hoops, but a crackdown:
All illegal aliens present in the United States on the date of enactment of our bill must quickly register their presence with the United States Government — and submit to a rigorous process of converting to legal status and earning a path to citizenship — or face imminent deportation.
And he apparently will try to get people not to use the phrase “undocumented workers,” because it sounds weak.
When we use phrases like ‘undocumented workers,’ we convey a message to the American people that their Government is not serious about combating illegal immigration, which the American people overwhelmingly oppose.
The newsiest element of his remarks is the biometric employer verification system. It is a stepped up version of E-Verify, which lets employers check a person’s immigration status using Social Security numbers. That system is considered severely limited because it can’t detect someone who is using someone else’s SSN. Schumer said the subcommittee will hash through different proposals for a new system during a hearing in July.
The speculation will continue about whether Congress will deal with a bill this year, and whether it has to be this year in order to pass during Obama’s term. The latest came from Rahm Emmanuel, who said today that a comprehensive bill still lacked the necessary number of votes, reports the Washington Post. He said immigration was unlikely to pass this year, but that it was important to start the effort this year.

Another smoke screen by our Government. Give amnesty now
and we’ll have another 10 million illegals in 5 years.
The borders are not secure and you are still rewarding illegal activity. Imminent deportation? Who’s going to follow up on it? Not the Demorats. The American people don’t want shamnesty. KILL THE BILL!!!!
Here is a real simple plan. Bring home all troops from countries we have no beef with; ie Germany, Japan, and place the troops along OUR border protecting OUR country.
Before spending money on “new” and “improved” systems can we find out why the E-Verify system does not work?
e-verify DOES work but our spineless politicians who are supposed to be looking out for our welfare vote it down
because of the hispanic vote.Once they are all legalized
that’s another 10 million votes for the Demorats. What American politician would vote no on a bill that protects American jobs? They are all traitors!!!!
More horse s**t from a brainless, spineless, bleeding heart. How are we going to legalize the animals that are already here and not expect a mass exodus from these armpit countries to follow. If we are going to legalize them, let’s collect an average of 10k per individual and use the money to
guard our borders 24/7.
NO, NO, NO, NO, NO…a million or $340 BILLION times no.
Solution: Leave and get on the end of the line, enterting legally so we know who you are and wjhat you are bringing with you.
Chuckie, one of these days, you may start paying attention to your constituents, THE VAST MAJORITY of whom are against illegal immigration and reperatedly tell you so in writing, in faxes, in the Journal News (after EVERY story), etc.
NO, NO, NO, NO, NO…a million or $340 BILLION times no.
Every American, green card and working visa holder has a decision to make in the coming months? You can turn away and leave the rest of us to fight over the illegal immigration battle, or you can do your share? Simply put if you don’t mind the continuous AMNESTIES, that as a taxpayers the Status Quo in Washington keep taking your money for, thus supporting the Illegal alien occupancy of our nation. Or you can draw that line in the sand and say enough is enough! This simply means you as a voter can instruct your representative to do your bidding? Not the opposite way? If millions of us contact these politicians they would not be to keen, pushing for this AMNESTY. Specifically knowing that Robert Rector of the Heritage Foundation, an astute and well known analyst has conceived that this AMNESTY, would cost taxpayers 2.6 trillion dollars to implement on enactment.
The person in the street who investigates the government statistics, think tank facts and a whole serious of data not corrupted by the open border, free traders and other delusional organizations. We all must come to realize that we have been programmed by our government to believe everything they print or say? Just like the 11 million number, which has probably doubled in the last seven years. They really have no conception of the number remaining here? Rational individual, should make his own mind-up of what to do? We can do absolutely nothing and let the unscrupulous leaders in Congress, tread us into the mud and leave us to scrap over this illegal alien crisis. Sen. Charles Schumer, D-N.Y., the chairman of the Senate Judiciary subcommittee on immigration, has already using his influence to deny American workers jobs, by trying to slay E-Verify as Sen. Harry Reid, Nancy Pelosi—ALL PRO ILLEGAL ALIEN REPRESENTATIVES.
No! its not perfect, but it is being continuously modified? NO! its not without mistakes, because that why you go to the Social Security office to straighten things out. Every immigration law that comes the publics way is annulled, because the majority of lawmakers are in this together. Paying just lip service to their own constituents and offering only unimportant distractions that don’t effect the voters wallet. Of all issues that resonate illegal immigration must be considered to be the master, because it effects our very future. Perhaps even more than the money forcibly extracted to pay for the illegal alien welfare is OVERPOPULATION. Your voice is needed in Washington, to seal the border, cut off all support and jobs to every illegal immigrant who violated the rule of law, by crossing into a sovereign AMERICA
E-Verify should be the demand to every politician, that as a permanent addition to all enforcement. Not one employee should be exempt from a full examination of their legal status who exists on a payroll. It’s no doubt in my mind hundreds of thousands, perhaps many millions have remained hidden within the employer rolls of any business, taking existing jobs of many Americans? Perhaps Washington is so apprehensive that for years they have remained intentionally ignorant of how many illegal foreign workers have taken US worker jobs from janitor, warehouse manager, engineer to computer programmer?
Don’t anybody tell you that illegal immigrants are good for the economy? For businesses who harbor the cheap labor and make huge profits a guaranteed—YES! But certainly not for the US taxpayer, who supports the illegal worker? Summoning up the tax situation the Heritage foundation after complex analysis for 2004, conveys “that for low-skill immigrant households paid only $10,573 in taxes. Thus, low-skill immigrant households received nearly three dollars in immediate benefits and services for each dollar in taxes paid. The federal government operates over 60 means-tested aid programs. The largest of these are Medicaid; the Earned Income Tax Credit (EITC); food stamps; Supplemental Security Income (SSI); Section 8 housing; public housing; Temporary Assistance to Needy Families (TANF); the school lunch and breakfast programs; the WIC (Women, Infants, and Children) nutrition program; and the Social Services Block Grant (SSBG).
Many means-tested programs, such as SSI and the EITC, provide cash to recipients. Others, such as public housing or SSBG, pay for serĀvices that are provided to recipients.” Another fallacy is that illegal immigrants cannot apply for any federal benefits, but even those programs have been abused with fraudulent documents.
Then their is the classic illegal female who slips past the undermanned border patrols, pregnant with child under the current misguided law, becomes an instant burden on the US taxpayer. Quoted as, ” Illegal immigrant households do contain some 3 million children who were born inside the U.S. to illegal immigrant parents. These children are U.S. citizens and are eligible for, and do receive, means-tested welfare of every category.” Assuming all Americans, even liberals and so called progressives want to know more, they should venture to the non-profit organization The Heritage Foundation under the headline, ”
The Fiscal Cost of Low-Skill Immigrants to the U.S. Taxpayer by Robert E. Rector and Christine Kim Verify the extraction tool from the workplace of foreign labor and the 8th Amnesty is enacted against the peoples wishes, the next irreversible ultimate problem is OVERPOPULATION. Another headline that must interest the avid reader from the same source AMNESTY WILL COST US TAXPAYERS $2.6 TRILLION DOLLARS. The only outcome of this massive AMNESTY would be irreversible OVERPOPULATION. Steve Reiss, points a disturbing fact, not disclosed by our government. If the current immigration bill being debated by congress passes it will be the 8th AMNESTY in 21 years. NUMBERSUSA has answers.
MAYBE THE ILLEGAL IMMIGRANT INVASION DOESN’T GET YOU ON THE PHONE. BUT A FUTURE OF OVERPOPULATION SHOULD?
