Mt. Kisco group hosts two immigration events

Neighbors Link of Mount Kisco is bringing back its “Latin Links Conversation Program.” The second annual event sponsored by the Friends of Neighbors Link will feature two conversations, including a viewing and panel discussion of “La Misma Luna” (Under the Same Moon) at 7:15 p.m., Sept. 17 at the Jacob Burns Film Center in Pleasantville and a panel discussion on immigration, entitled ” Under the Same Flag,” at 7 p.m. on Oct. 17 at St. Matthews Episcopal Church in Bedford.

Panelists at the film event include author Esmeralda Santiago, Westchester County Hispanic Advisory Board Chair, Robin Bikkal and Maria Hernandez, a Neighbors Link client. Wine and tapas will precede the film at 6:15 p.m.

The church-based panel discussion will involve moderator and historian Kenneth Jackson and panelists David Montgomery JR., a Washington Post reporter and former Port Chester schools Superintendent Anthony Napoli. The program will examine immigration’s impact on family structure, education and human development. Wine and hors d’oeuvres will be served before the presentation.
