Westchester-Rockland restaurant owners to discuss immigration and hiring

Business owners are invited to bring their questions about immigration and hiring to a meeting April 15 of the New York State Restaurant Association-Westchester/Rockland Chapter. Attorney Theresa Murphy will sort out some of the recent changes in the rules for employers — namely the changes to the I-9 form used to verify a person’s authorization to work in the United States. She will answer questions about hiring legally and keeping records.

“There is so much confusion out there, and employers are really scared,” said Koshy Chacko, who runs Fair Deal Deli in White Plains.
